FLOWERS IN A BAG!

Talk about an obvious title, it made me laugh a little. But in all seriousness how cool is this idea! I have seen pictures on Pinterest and Instragram of peonies in Chanel bags and how cool does that look! I really wanted to try something like that once I saw the illustration below from Megan Hess's book,  Fashion House.

So anyway not much to explain here guys, get some cute faux or real flowers, in a small or medium size vase. I found these cute popcorn bags in chic black and white stripes at Homesense, and well place the flowers in the bag! Done! Super cute, and this decor idea would be a hit any party too!
(I have a much prettier blog post coming up with this idea so stay tuned!!)

Sunday Roses..

Hope you are having a lovely Sunday..

I have been working all weekend, finally got some time to relax. I was saving this shoot pictures for next week but what better way to enjoy you Sunday looking at pretty things! I am definitely going through a Rose phase, they are so pretty and are for sure helping me get through this brutal winter of ours. I loved this unique colour of roses, not very traditional but subtly beautiful indeed. Anyway...enjoy :)

Home decor: Trends Agate, Gold & Emerald

It's trend spotting time! Yes, agate has been around for over a year now, even target did some wonderful pieces in faux look, but I just can not get enough of it. I love how it looks beautiful in it's original state or even just the print. I am especially in love with the cushion covers from West Elm (I bought both beige and the green one!). They of course have jewellery boxes and book ends!

My second favorite trend is Gold, it is so luxurious! And now there are more and more modern items on the market to incorporate into any decor theme, I have the star burst chandelier, and dying for the gold and white tray by Nate Berkus for Target!!

And Emerald, even though Pantone has chosen another colour for another year, Emerald is not going anywhere! We are seeing it from furniture to accessories to kitchen cabinets!  It is such a vibrant and lively colour. I love that it is not masculine or feminine, so you can use it anywhere and in way you like! When in doubt green has always been my go to colour. It is so versatile, it brings a freshness to the room and depending on the shade can be calming, or full of energy!

Home Decor: How to display Sand & Sea Shells

We all love buying traditional souvenirs on our travels.  I personally love collecting all things natural while traveling. It makes me feel like I am bringing a little piece of that place back with me. But challenge arises when you bring it all home and not sure what to do with it. Here are some ways I have incorporated some of the nature's wonders and made them art.

Above are some of the shells I picked up from Costa Rica last year. It would have been nice to just put them in a jar, but I loved the colours and textures of each and every shell that I wanted to showcase them all individually. So I displayed them all in a glass box colour-coordinated and texture-coordinated. This was they look more organized and I love how every shell gets to show off!

After that I was still left with some of the longer shells which I had no clue how to display. So I was browsing through Pinterest to get some ideas and came across spray pained metallic shells. That was simply brilliant! I went straight to Michaels and got myself a metallic gold spray and Voila! Gold shells! They looks so precious and so glam even in a small glass bowl.

All things Pretty: Happy Valentine's day

I originally had no post created for Valentine's day, but then I got these beautiful Coral roses! How gorgeous are these, I had to display them right away and something this pretty needs to be photographed! I admit I went a little nuts but these flowers make me ralize I should have roses at my house ALL the time. I smile every time I look at them, needless to say I have been admiring them all day!

Home Decor: For the love of Copper

I wasn't sure about this at first but Copper has really grown on me. I have always been more of a "silver" person and I was just starting to dip my toes into the Gold territory and then comes Copper with gun blazing! I have to admit it is such a cool tone for a metal and it can work in both rustic and glamorous setting! I personally believe Tom Dixon is solely responsible for bringing this trend mainstream [but don't quote me on it ;)]. For me opper had bit of a country feel to it, but then you look at the reflective copper shade my Tom Dixon and how stunning it looks with modern decor. It has changed the way I see and use copper. I am personally so excited to add a few copper elements around the house. Here are a few simple ways how..

Home decor: Display Trays

I love displaying all the objects I love in trays, mainly because it gives it an "organized" look despite being mis-machted. I am always changing my tray displays though, because I simply get bored with one look or if I buy something new I have to display it so I can admire it!

I bought this sea-urchin from Target last summer and I can't get enough of it. It has moved all over my house but it is always where I can see it and admire it. Another thing I realized once I started putting my favourite things in the tray, is that I clearly have a thing for all things French! For example all the books and water carafe from Indigo are all french inspired. Also, I love peacocks which explains why I fell in love with this tray, also from Indigo.

So here are a few examples of display tray that makes you smile everytime you look at it!
