Happy Monday- Stripes and Colours

I have been slacking on posting lately, honestly life has gone from slow and steady to uber busy lately. I do plan to post but then something always comes up..work, home, taxes! As I am self-employed and a major procrastinator I do tend to leave all my paper work to last minute even though I promise every year that I will stay on top of things!

But all is done now..and hopefully I can bounce back into my posting routine. Today i give you a different take on "straws". With summer coming, I am seeing different colour paper straws pop up everywhere! They are super cute and great for BBQs, birthday parties and even sipping a smoothie all by yourself. So, I, like a crazy person went and bought every colour on the market. And not for the party reasons..more for "art". Well I do still intend to use them later but playing with straws can be more fun that I originally imagined.
I am thinking about making a few prints of these and see how it all come through, perhaps a future project?? Brainstorming out loud here, but I think a set of three would make a great series...well till then enjoy the messy 'art' ;)

TRAVEL DIARIES: : COLOUR-BLOCKED LISBON

As promised yesterday, nothing but colour! I took these pictures a while back during my trip to Lisbon, Portugal. I loved the famous tile facades but it was by luck I spotted these gorgeous buildings. It was in the area of Belem, famous for the Belem cafe, the University, museums, piers and of course the Belem Tower. We we walking along Av. India when I saw all these colours and as usual ran towards them with my camera. I couldn't believe the beauty and I love when people are daring enough to choose bold colours. Can you imagine blue, pink, purple, orange and mixed with natural greens..what a stunning view. I have to be honest though I never did find out what these buildings were but I did bring back a little part of Belem with me.

Pictures below are from a resting station from our bus ride from Lisbon to Seville. I couldn't believe this was a real place. Gorgeous spring sunlight, and crisp colours of the station, it seemed a like a movie set.

A lilac Hotel. Enough said. These pictures remind me of "The Grand Budapest Hotel". What a lovely thought that these stunning buildings do exist outside of  the Hollywood sets.

Trending Tuesdays: Making me Blush!

So we have seen blush all over the runway this season, and it was definitely the surprise colour of the winter with pink winter coats everywhere! I am glad to see it's not going anywhere this summer AND it's sticking around trough Fall 2014! Here are some of my favorite things in blush!

Snug Studio

How adorable is this calendar from Snug Studio. I love the colour of course and the minimalist and modern design.

These blush cushions are just so dreamy. They are so glamourous and I would put them in pretty much every room of the house!

There beauties I stumbled on Babasouk are just divine. Babasouk is Montreal based shop and sell all sorts of unique things. These bowls are hand made so no two are the same. How lovely would it be to serve dessert in these, or even use as dipping bowls! But they are so versatile, they can be used to display jewellery, or use them as change bowls.
