Nav K Brar: RENO DIARIES: WE'VE GOT WALLS!

Wow what a transformation since we first began! Check out the original post here and demo here. The place is finally starting to come together and very quickly! It seems that we did absolutely nothing for months (which of course is not true because all electrical, plumbling, taking walls down, insulation all went in..but it seemed like we weren't doing much)... BUT now a new detail is going in every week! I took these pics only a week ago, and already the walls are completed and primed, we have brand new hardwood in, and now doors and trims are getting prepped!

Like I said we did try to save some original details..the house was old but everything was in pretty good shape. However, given the time restraint and cost we couldn't keep everything. We did save the staircase but we will get it repainted/stained..looks like that's happening next week! We are resusing all the old doors and hardware..I am super excited about that! And see that little entrance through the living room..there are pocket doors there which still work smoothly! Sooo yes they are staying. Of course the fireplace is a gem..it does need bit of a makeover and I have been going a bit insane trying to find ways to glam it up. I want to show some of my personality..I love colour and pattern and I feel a small area like the fireplace is a perfect place to showcase that..but I haven't exactly come up with a solid plan for it yet. We have a meeting with the paint guy on Wednesday so hopefully I'll be able to take some more pics of whatever else is completed by then.
